Opus is undertaking conservation work required for an olympic standard canoeing and white water rafting course at the new International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay. 

Working with Cadw (Welsh Assembly Government’s historic environment division), for Cardiff City Council, Opus is refurbishing a historic waterside depot, known as the Coal staithe. This will become a major feature of the facility.    

Due to the sensitive and fragile state of the existing structure, the work was carefully planned and wherever possible timbers were reused.
