  • Roger Burra, Senior Transport Planner, Wellington, New Zealand

Roger is developing into a great leader and project manager; his talents are not limited to project work but also team support, mentoring and development.

Roger joined Opus three years ago and already has a very long list of achievements. Roger’s achievements demonstrate his professionalism, integrity, strong client relationships, ability to deliver beyond expectation, and leadership.

  • Reece Gibson, Projects Engineer, Queenstown, New Zealand

As Area Engineer, Reece has been involved in all aspects of professional service delivery from project investigation and development through to contract supervision and management, including road safety engineering. Reece has also managed utilities and seal extension contracts for the Queenstown Lakes District Council.

Reece has proved to be a very committed and self motivated employee, frequently working extended hours to meet the high levels of professionalism he sets himself. He readily accepts challenges and responsibility and has the ability to resolve difficulties while delivering successful results.

Reece’s progress to date and alignment with Opus' values (Strong Client Relationships, Excellent Service Delivery and Urgency Through Empowerment) underlines his potential for future achievement.

  • Marcus Siu, Project Manager, Vancouver, Canada

Marcus is a very solid performer in the Vancouver office.  He is a Transportation Planner with a very strong affinity with transportation engineering.  On his own initiative, he recently studied for and attained the internationally recognised specialist designation of Professional Transportation Planner.

Technically, Marcus’ work is consistently very sound.  He is very focussed on providing results that are easily understood, with a level of analysis that is consistent with the project budget. 

For this reason, Marcus’ clients are very pleased with his work, and consistently return to him for additional sole source projects. 

  • Nadeem Khan, Geotechnical Engineer, Nottingham, United Kingdom

Nadeem is currently working as a Geotechnical Engineer for in the Nottingham Clarendon office and over the past number of years has not only lived the Opus values but has exceeded them.

Over the last year Nadeem has personally designed and acted as a full time Resident Engineer for the construction of a key retaining wall at the Queens Medical Hospital.

  • Glenn Ellis, Senior Mechanical Engineer, Auckland, New Zealand

Glenn has a combination of good all round aptitude/competence, commitment to his work and his willingness to put in the extra effort to meet tight delivery deadlines.

Glenn has natural consulting skills and this particularly includes presenting well to clients.  This has been demonstrated a number of times in meetings with clients where Glenn has represented our team in a measured and considered way that has imparted confidence to difficult clients.

Glenn has become a trusted advisor and sought after team member for difficult projects.  Since gaining CPEng status he has taken on the responsibility for delivery of significant projects including, most recently, the mechanical services for the Department of Corrections PCDP Bunking Project.

Glenn willingly volunteers and gives his time as a mentor to younger team members.
