Gordon Davidson has been appointed as CFO to Opus International Consultants. He is currently CFO of Kiwibank and has an extensive banking background with Bank of Scotland, National Bank and the ANZ.
“We are very pleased to have Gordon coming on board. His strong strategic experience, business acumen and technical capabilities will be a significant asset to our business,” says Dr David Prentice, Chief Executive of Opus.
Mr Davidson moved to Kiwibank as CFO in 2008, and has overseen significant improvement in core business performance. As CFO, he led the M&A financial stream delivering Gareth Morgan Investments, Kiwi Asset Finance Ltd, and New Zealand Home Loans, held responsibility for growing assets at 10% or more each year, and introduced 10 year capital plan modelling.
Mr Davidson spent three years as CFO of Inland Revenue before moving to Kiwibank. He successfully shifted the organisation to International Finance Reporting Standards and developed the Managing for Outcomes framework.
As Chief Manager of Finance at the National Bank from 1998 to 2003, Mr Davidson was responsible for all aspects of finance and taxation. Following the purchase of National Bank by ANZ in 2003, Mr Davidson became Head of Finance and oversaw one of the the largest financial sector integrations in New Zealand history.
Mr Davidson holds a BA in Accountancy and Economics, a Master’s in Business Administration from the Edinburgh Business School, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. He and his family have lived in New Zealand since 1998.
