Opus International Consultants’ (Opus) Yorkshire Office, based in Doncaster, has won the prestigious Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) South Yorkshire Award in the category ‘Leadership in People Development’. Opus was presented with the award at the Awards Dinner ceremony held at Sheffield City Hall on the 16th October 2009. Opus was also the runner up for the Sustainability award on the same night.

Commenting on the win, Jonathan Saunders, Opus’ Northern Region Director said; “As a company, we place great investment in our people and we are delighted to receive this recognition from the industry.”

Opus’ entry demonstrated outstanding performance through excellent leadership and commitment to people development. Opus maximises the contribution of employees through training, development and involvement in the organisation.

Opus’ development programme includes Study Awards and a Cadet Scheme (to encourage young people to enter the engineering profession) as well as annual internal awards to recognise talent.

Clients supporting Opus in the Award include AMCO Rail who the company has provided engineering services for on a range of projects across Yorkshire.

The awards ceremony aimed to reflect the dynamic nature of the construction business and highlighted the broadest possible spectrum of construction excellence being delivered by the industry in South Yorkshire.
